Recipe Ingredient List:
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 Purple Onion
- 2 slices of American cheese
- Pickles
- Lettuce
- Burger Buns
Aoli Ingredients:
- Mayo
- Ketchup
- Dijon mustard
- Minced Garlic
Recipe Steps
First, preheat your Hurtado Smokebox with the Plancha to approximately 600°F.
Next, in a bowl, thoroughly mix all the aioli ingredients until well combined. Set the bowl aside for later use.
While the grill is preheating, thinly slice your purple onion, setting it aside for the assembly stage.
Then shape the ground beef into ¼ lb balls and season them generously.
Once the grill is ready, place the ¼ lb balls of ground beef on the Plancha and allow them to sear, undisturbed, for a few moments.
After searing, flip the balls of ground beef over and use a burger press to smash the burgers flat.
Continue cooking the patties until the edges begin to turn brown, indicating they are ready to be flipped.
Add a slice of American cheese to each patty, allowing it to melt deliciously over the hot beef.
Meanwhile, place the burger buns on the Plancha to toast until they are golden brown.
Begin assembling the burger by spreading the prepared aioli on both halves of the buns. Then, place your sliced red onions and butter lettuce on the bottom buns.
Next, place your smash burger patties on top of the lettuce, followed by pickles for an added crunch.
Finally, place the top bun over the assembled ingredients and enjoy your ultimate smash burger.
